One of our clients, the high-tech company UAB Lidaris, provides laser and optical component testing and quality assessment services to customers worldwide. This success story illustrates how the Odoo business management system was tailored to the company’s specific needs to improve operational efficiency.
UAB Lidaris enables its customers to submit enquiries through the company’s website, while the delivered testing results precisely correspond to the samples provided.
Although the company has a relatively small team of around 20 employees, the nature of its activities, including optical resistance testing and technical consulting in laser optics, requires a highly efficient and well-adapted business management solution. For this reason, implementing a smoothly operating ERP system aligned with the company’s specific needs was essential to ensure efficient service delivery and operational control.
In most cases, our clients fall into two categories: companies using another ERP system for internal processes and those running an older version of Odoo that no longer meets their current needs. UAB Lidaris belonged to the latter group.
After analysing the client’s situation, our team proposed starting the project with a website upgrade.
Part of the website was dedicated to a newly developed online store where customers interested in UAB Lidaris services can quickly and easily describe their samples and select the required tests according to specifications.
A payment interface was implemented, enabling customers to pay for services directly online.
Following these technical steps, the project was still not complete. The next major challenge was adapting the Odoo manufacturing module to support optimal planning and management of testing operations.
The primary task was to develop an algorithm capable of efficiently scheduling customer orders based on the availability of both personnel and equipment. It was equally important to ensure intuitive planning management and clear visualisation so that the UAB Lidaris team could easily monitor testing processes and optimise workflows.
These were the first key steps toward achieving the client’s objectives and improving operational efficiency through Odoo.
